The National Bank of Poland (NBP) has issued three commemorative coins to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Jan Karski’s birth. This project was initiated by the Jan Karski Educational Foundation and its sister organization Fundacja Edukacyjna Jana Karskiego, in Warsaw, Poland, which have collaborated with NBP to bring this project to fruition. Foundation Director and Head of the Jan Karski. Unfinished Mission program at the Polish History Museum in Warsaw, Poland, Ewa Wierzyńska, has worked closely with NBP on this project as a historical consultant to ensure that Jan Karski’s legacy is properly recognized and honored.
Jan Karski coins (with denominations of 2 PLN, 10 PLN, and 200 PLN) are part of the series promoting civic responsibility and the use of the innovative technology of micro-printing.
