Jan Karski Photobiography, a stunning portrayal of the life and work of Jan Karski, compiled and authored by Maciej Sadowski, was recently published by VEDA Publishers in Warsaw. Since 2011, Sadowski has been at the forefront of developing this new form of illustrated biography, the photobiography, with the release of four books dedicated to significant figures in Polish history. This photobiography chronicles Karski’s life in a unique and exciting manner, featuring photos of Karski’s friends, family, and self through the years alongside maps of his travels, important notes, quotes, and other primary documents.

The book is bilingual (English/Polish) and would be interesting to anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of the history of the Polish Underground in WWII - or to learn more about the life of Jan Karski.

In addition to following Karski’s life from his childhood to his time as a professor at Georgetown University, Sadowski also includes many short narratives that further contextualize Karski’s work along with other intriguing facts and tidbits. Whether through an infographic detailing the structure of the Polish Underground, a list of the various aliases and pseudonyms Karski was known by through the years, or a copy of Karski’s diplomatic passport, the photobiography combines these many unique resources to enhance, capture, and catalogue the inspiring story of Karski’s life.

A special collectors edition of the book, with an embedded Karski coin, will be given to Premium Ticket holders at the second annual JKEF reception in New York. This edition is not available online.
