An online panel discussion organized by the Sousa Mendes Foundation, including Bozena U. Zaremba, representing the Jan Karski Educational Foundation, will be held on Sunday, August 7 at 4pm EST. This event is organized in connection with the virtual presentation of Slawomir Grunberg’s film, Karski & The Lords of Humanity.

Slawomir Grunberg, an Emmy Award winning documentary filmmaker and director of the film, heads up the panel, with several other notable guests, including Abraham H. Foxman, National Director Emeritus of the Anti-Defamation League; Dr. Michael Berenbaum, Director of the Sigi Ziering Institute and co-founder of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum; Dr. Mordecai Paldiel, former leader of the Righteous Among the Nations Department at Yad Vashem; and Bozena U. Zaremba, the Jan Karski Educational Foundation's project manager, writer, editor, and translator.

The film itself has received numerous complimentary reviews and honors for its director, and will also be shown by the Sousa Mendes Foundation from August 5-8.

This promises to be an illuminating discussion and will introduce Jan Karski to the Sousa Mendes Foundation's community. The Foundation is dedicated to perpetuating the legacy of Aristides de Sousa Mendes do Amaral e Abranches, a Portuguese consul in France during WWII, who helped hundreds of  European Jews escape the Nazi horror by providing them with visas.

The links to register for the webinar and the film presentation will be published at a future date. Both the panel and the film viewing will be by donation. View the Sousa Mendes Foundation website for more information about the event.
