The 2022 Florida Council for The Social Studies Conference will feature a speaker about Karski and his contemporary relevance to the war in Ukraine.
The Florida Council for The Social Studies (FCSS) is a professional organization of Social Studies educators striving to maintain and enhance the importance of Social Studies in Florida education.
The title of the talk is Bearing Witness to the Holocaust and Now and the speaker is Bozena U. Zaremba from the Jan Karski Educational Foundation. She will present information about the Karski legacy and how it relates to the current war in Ukraine.
Jan Karski went to university in Lviv, which was then in Poland but is now part of Ukraine, so as a diplomat, he was very familiar with the region. His courage and humanitarian missions can serve as an example to others as the war continues.
More information about the Conference and the program is included on their website.
